The newly promoted Kwara United football club of Ilorin recorded a 1-0 victory against their opponent Niger Tornadoes of Minna in a friendly match encounter played today at the football pitch of University of Ilorin.
The Harmony boys broke the deadlock in the twenty eight minute with the strike from former Shooting Star striker Kayode Agboola and it remained all what John Obuh’s led team needed to get the victory over Aieto’s 2017 runners up Niger Tornadoes. The former Afonja Warriors was a team to watch as they dominated the match throughout the entire first forty five minutes. The preseason friendly served as a good opportunity for the technical crew of both teams to assess their newly recruited players and prepared adequately for the forthcoming Preseason GOLD CUP which kicks off in Ilorin the kwara state capital on Wednesday this week. All attempts made by the Minna team to come back to the game met a brick wall as the pair of kwara united skipper Abdul Hakeem Onigbari and Cyril Oriaku remained solid at the back until the final whistle.
