Kwara State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) has honoured the chairman Board of Trustee, Sobi FM, Ilorin, Mallam Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha (LOM) as champion of Community Development and Youth Employment.
Presenting the award yesterday in Ilorin at the 20th Kwara State NUJ Media Parliament tagged ‘Youth Engagement in Governance, A Panacea for Social Economic Development’ held at NUJ press, the Chairman of NUJ in the state Mallam Biodun Abdulkareem described the the Sobi FM boss as a through ambassador of the union and the state at large.
While praising Mallam Mustapha for establishing a radio station in Ilorin, the number one journalist in the state described Sobi FM as the best broadcasting station in Ilorin.
Reacting to the gesture, Lukman thanked the union for the honour bestowed on him, insisting that the award is a challenge that will spur him to contribute more to the society.
The Sobi FM boss however reiterated his commitment to support the youths in the state, through a special programme that will provide more job opportunities for the youths.
Meanwhile, Mallam Lukman Mustapha has advised the Kwara State Government to invest vehemently on agriculture in order to reduce unemployment in the state and country at large.
He described agriculture as a major driver of economic development of the nation, especially in the area of job creation and boosting of economy.
Lukman however praised the youths of this state for actively involving in agriculture such as fish farm, cassava farm and others.
He challenged the state government to revive Molete Youths Farm to encourage more youths to partake in agricultural programme.
