The President of Nigeria Senate and political juggernaut of Kwara State Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki has admitted to be responsible for the woes of the state citizens.
Saraki who spoke through his representative Kawu Baraje at the annual almanac launching of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union which came up on Monday at the Premises of Emir Palace sought for leniency and magnanimity while conceding his involvement in the plights bedeviling the State at present.
According to the statement credited to him by Baraje in an audio circulating across social media, Saraki expressed,
“I want you to forgive me with the sake of our royal father, the Emir of Ilorin. I am quite aware of the facts that you are facing many challenges specifically, lack of money, nonpayment of salary, continuous unaffordable hike of school fees and most importantly harsh economic conditions.
I want to plead to you to be lenient with me despite all these challenges. I know I am responsible for all you’re going through, but kindly pardon me.
I’ve brainstormed with our Emir and I’ve got his permission, I thereby promise by God’s grace, the situation of things will improve for better by the end of next month.”
While explaining reasons why he has not been able to fulfill his electoral promises which include facilitations of companies to the State and provision of jobs for the youths, Saraki alluded it to his judicial travails in the hand of Federal Government which began immediately after he became the senate president.
The senate president while appreciating past supports and prayers which have earned him triumphs against his challenges, pleaded for more gestures from the people of the State in order to prevail in all his future challenges.
Meanwhile, the address was greeted with uproars and boos from the audience who seems not to be happy with the political leader.
